Status Levels and Guidance

The status level dictates the required vigilance and necessary actions.

  • Ensure all systems are fully patched and up to date.
Continue practicing basic cyber hygiene. Verify your MFA is active.
MODERATE Yellow
  • Increase monitoring frequency for anomalous network activity.
  • Review and update incident handling playbooks.
Be highly skeptical of unsolicited emails and links. Monitor financial accounts for suspicious activity.
HIGH Orange
  • Activate secondary security protocols and enhanced monitoring.
  • Restrict non-essential remote access.
  • Ensure executive decision-makers are on standby for crisis communication.
Limit online activity to necessary tasks. Report any highly suspicious attempts to access your accounts immediately.
SEVERE Red
  • Implement crisis-level risk remediation strategies.
  • Follow all directives issued by the NCU immediately.
  • Mobilize the full incident response team.
Assume maximum personal threat risk. Disconnect non-essential devices from the internet until the threat subsides.
