Status Levels and Guidance

National Threat Status

The National Threat Status provides an official, real-time assessment of the current cyber risk to Bermuda. This tool informs both mandatory risk management adjustments for CNII and promotes general awareness for the Public. What measures will you implement based on the current status?

LOW Green
  • Maintain standard governance controls and routine auditing cycles.
  • Ensure all systems are fully patched and up to date.
 Continue practicing basic cyber hygiene. Verify your MFA is active.
MODERATE Yellow
  • Increase monitoring frequency and review security logs.
  • Update incident handling playbooks and response procedures.
 Be skeptical of unsolicited emails. Monitor financial accounts regularly.
HIGH Orange
  • Activate secondary security protocols and enhanced monitoring.
  • Restrict remote access and implement additional authentication measures.
 Limit online activity to essential tasks only. Report suspicious attempts immediately.
SEVERE Red
  • Implement crisis-level risk remediation procedures.
  • Follow NCU directives and coordinate with security response teams.
 Disconnect non-essential devices from networks immediately.
